Promoting a Unified Community
The Washington State Treatment Court Alumni Association (WSTCAA) was born in 2024 from a shared vision: to create a supportive, statewide network for treatment court graduates across Washington.
It all began with Joe Barsana, a 2020 graduate of King County Drug Court, who imagined an alumni association that could connect graduates and uplift recovery communities beyond county lines. At a state conference for Drug Court professionals, Joe met fellow graduate Tonia McClanahan. Together, they began to brainstorm what that vision could look like in reality.
Caitlin Goodeill, also a 2020 graduate, attended Joe and Tonia’s presentation and felt inspired to join the effort. Allyson Lund, reflecting on her own journey through Family Court, also heard the presentation and recognized the opportunity to be part of something bigger.
Several Zoom meetings (and plenty of passion) later, the foundation was laid. With the creativity of Eric "E.V." Velez—who designed our logo and has been an incredible supporter—and the legal support of Seattle University Law students Lex Worthington, Gregory Rodriguez, and Lillian Lee, WSTCAA officially became a nonprofit organization.
The movement continued to grow. Darryl Coleman, a graduate from Benton County, joined the Board of Directors, bringing valuable perspective from Eastern Washington. Marjorie Drieu, a King County Drug Court graduate, also joined the board and now serves as our Treasurer, helping guide the organization with heart and financial stewardship.
WSTCAA is more than just an organization—it’s a community. We exist to unite treatment court alumni across Washington State, offering connection, purpose, and a priceless gift: ongoing support in recovery. We believe that lived experience is powerful, and when we come together, that power multiplies.
